Summer courses are offered in roofing and building with clay using old techniques and new methods. These courses are being offered because the French government wants to find new uses for the old and unused barns, facilitating their being turned into either studios or dwellings.

Applying for all the permits for a property can take more than six months: Not because of government unwillingness but because there is no agency to coordinate everything. All permits will be arranged before signing the final deed of purchase.
These administrative procedures, permits to be connected to public utilities, building permits, etc. are all included in the above-mentioned charges.
